Yvonne just with 2 weeks training won 2nd place in the patterns section of the Sun Hang Do tournament and she was also was in the sparring competition and was outmatched but hung in there and took her licks but she did get a point against a much taller heavier and more experienced opponent. The masters put on a show to show off there talents and it was very worth while as it shows all the students with dedication and hard work how good you can get. She still misses Master Kenyon in San Diego as he really helped her with forms and patterns when she trained there.
I even managed to get some stained glass work in using glass and bevels. I have 2 pieces I have cut out and ground but haven't gotten around to finishing them as yet. Well that brings us up to date for now . Take care all Jim

It has been awhile since we have posted an update so I will try to get everyone
uo to date. We got home on a Sunday and Leslie and I were right back into the thick of things with regards to work. Leslie started to try and catch up with her work and on Wednesday I started with Henlel and McCoy PEI. A big US firm bought out an local Abbotsford firm and are in the process of expanding it. I have been setting up the cable section as PEI has never had a cable section and it is a challenge to say the least. Leslie has taken on some new clients as well as still working with the older clients and it she is very busy.
In the meantime we have bought another car as I am commuting to Abbotsford everyday, Yvone started regular school to finish out the year and is loving it. In the midst of all that we have been house hunting, renewing our friendships and seeing family. We have had Yvonne's Birthday, spent Easter at John and Lila's and her cousins on Van. Island We even had a week of sunshine, yes I know it doesn't seem like it but it is true and Yvonne spends a lot of time with Lauren and Jamesee at the playground in the rv park. Grandma and Grandpa came over for a concert and got to come and see Yvonne in her first Sun Hang Do tournament. More to pictures with regards to that to follow. Jim

Today was Yvonne's testing for Soo Bahk Do. She preformed her offensive and defensive combinations well and her forms very well. She has gone every night for the last week and a half as she missed 6 weeks of training while we were away. She worked hard and the results showed as she was rewarded with a double stripe which is rarely rewarded. The kids and parents all congratulated her as she worked very hard and put on a good show. She volunteered to go first on the form testing and nailed it. Needless to say Mom and Dad are very proud of her. We all went out to PF Changs for dinner. Gluten Free Chinese Food.
Hopefully we can find a martial art she can continue with up in BC. Tang Soo Do is the closest there. John Lila and Marina will be coming down on spring break and we will visit with them and Start heading home. Take care all Jim

We finally got up to the Wildlife Park. We met up with some people from Colorado that we met last year in Kino Bay, Mexico. Jan and Klaus. The weather here has been wierd. It will get cold and rain for a couple of days and then be 83US for a few days. Other than that we have been having a good time. Yvonne has been back at So Bahk Do for a couple of weeks now and has been doing well. he will be testing for more stripes on her belt.. The other day she was used as a demonstator for her front kicks. She can actually kick over her head. Anyway, we sure enjoyed our day at the park as it is one of our favourite places to go. Take care all Jim

Hey y'all. As you can see we are in a rain storm. The water is definitly rising. They pumped the canals down today and the rains have let up so hopefully the worst is over. The worst spot is around LA.LA . They had the fires there and there is nothing to hold the ground from washing away. They are clearing out the drains from the fall leaf fall. That will help carry away the water. ya think. We have known about the rains for over a week. Hello!! Anybody home out there?

Anyway we left Desert Hot Springs and the weather there was in the high 70's low 80's. We got a lot of pool time and I played water volley ball just about everyday. The tan is looking good. Yvonne and I played some basketball during school breaks and she weally(taw I taw a puddy tat weally) lol. enjoyed it. She is at the age where she is really getting into all sports. This park put in a new work out room and they have bought some great equipment and we are all spending an hour in there every day. I am thure thor. Yvonne sure likes to work out. Hopefully we will all lose a few pounds as she will be back into Soo Bahk Do when we get to S Diego at the end of the month. Richard and I will be back on the bike rides. Les will be also as the trails are very good down there as the trails are around Mission Bay. Take care all. We weally mith u all. lol Sorry. Jim

HAPPY NEW YEAR. I find it hard to believe that it is 2010. Where did all the decades go? It doesn't matter tho you just want more. 2010 is going to be a year of change for us, that is for sure. There are some decisions we have to make with regards to school for Evonne, housing for us and a big change in travel plans. There are some outstanding issues with regards to family that will be dealt with asap. It seems when we are on the road some things just don't get done, It will all be done this year.
I hope everyone had a good New Year, We went to the clubhouse had some snacks. drinks and lots of dancing. It was the first year Yvonne actually stayed up with us all to ring in the New Year. It was a little bitter sweet as we have some good friends down here, but we also have great friends at home and are looking forward to skiing , skating and all the other things being home brings.
We are all looking forward to the changes that life has instore for us and renewing old aquaintances and adjusting to winter. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
One thing is for sure I will be doing a lot of stained glass during the winter months. I just completed the crown and anchor and the x and crown of thorns I gave to Mary Lou in Yuma last year and forgot to take a picture. It is a spectacular looking piece and one of my favorites. Until next blog have a good one Jim

Christmas Day 2009, Yuma Az. We had a great Christmas. Princess got a new bed and Yvonne got Baby alive from Santa. She talks eats and goes 1 &2 which will not be happening much as it is very messy. Grandma sent her a lady bug necklace . We had a very lazy day playing with all the lego and makeup. Les and Yvonne did make overs on each other and played lego. Yvonne and I played lego and I went for a bike ride and read for a bit, while I was making x-mas dinner . As usual the turkey dinner turned out great and we all got stuffed as usual.
Well we are off for a bike ride and I have turkey soup cooking for tonights dinner. Take care everyone. Jim
